Ingrid, Igor and Poppy:
A young black lab mix and two Shar Pei puppies were brought to the Franklin County Humane Society by a woman who found them by the side of the road.  They were in bad condition and very hungry.  She gave Poppy, the black lab mix, a sandwich and even though he was hungry, he took the sandwich to Ingrid and Igor, the Shar Pei puppies.   

After their arrival at the Humane Society, they were found to have sarcoptic mange which caused massive hair loss and itching.  Even in that miserable condition, they were adorable and very loving.  The staff and volunteers all fell in love with their sweetness.

After weeks of medical treatment, bathing and good nutrition, their coats have grown back and they are healthy and happy.  Ingrid and Igor have grown black fur similar to Poppy's and now we think that perhaps Poppy is the father dog.  They love playing together in the exercise yard and Poppy is very tolerant of their playfulness even when they are jumping all over him.  The funny thing is, that now that they all have plentiful amounts of food and biscuits available, Poppy has decided that all the food is his so they have to be separated during feeding time.

They will be ready to be adopted soon and can be seen at the Adoption Center which is open Tuesday-Friday from 2-5:30 and Saturdays from 10-2.  View other adoptable pets @ www.plannedpethoodrockymount.com
